 PAKISTAN'S MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Some Pakistani musical instruments have similarities to India. The instruments below are considered as major Pakistani Instruments.

1. RUBAB








- short necked plucked lute originated in Afghanistan and west Pakistan

- has a membrane covering the hollow bowl of sound chamber, on which bridge is placed.


2. DAFLI-








- also known as "daf","daffler" or "tambourine".

-wooden ring instrument with double rows of bells

- has a surface of 10" diameter.

- used and a must for wedding celebrations.


3. TABLA-









- two drum instrument originated in india

-Considered as most important accompaniment used in classical music.

- used in classical music.


4. DHOLAK-







- two headed hand drum from south Asis.

- Pitched instrument used in weddings

- used in weddings
